the take
we fully disagree on this one. Rebecca's all for Gary Vee, but she thinks he's been saying the same thing forever: post a ton of content, don't care what people think, repeat. Scott thinks the pitch updates every time: TikTok in 2018 (Rebecca admits she should have listened), live selling now, and this year it's interest based media, where followers barely matter and a brand new account can blow up on its first post. the one thing we agree on? 100,000 pieces of content a day. we do not want that.
this is the hosts' commentary and speculation for entertainment, not a statement of fact about anyone in it.
the backstory
Gary Vaynerchuk, aka Gary Vee, took over his family's liquor store, renamed it Wine Library, launched Wine Library TV on YouTube in 2006 and now runs the ad agency VaynerMedia.
at Entrepreneur's Overcoming Impossible event in October 2026 he said his businesses put out about 900 social posts a day, called that "nowhere" and said he's aiming for 100,000 pieces of content a day by next year, mostly made with AI tools. earlier he said he posts close to 1,000 pieces a day across about 10 platforms and 100+ handles.

- 0:00I was trying to show you a Gary Vee reel last night. You were like protesting.
- 0:04Look, I'm all for Gary Vee, but he's been saying the same thing.
- 0:07Well, no, he actually updates what he says. He always has one kind of stump speech that he's giving, but it's always like the current thing. Like, remember in 2018, he kept saying TikTok, TikTok, TikTok. And I tried to tell you TikTok and you were like, fuck, I should have listened to you about TikTok in 2018. Like, Gary Vee does have his finger on the pulse.
- 0:23Gary Vee gets a lot of heat, but honestly, it's like, it's not just really good motivation porn. Like, he's always on the pulse of what's hot. Like right now, he's talking about live selling. He's talking about, what the reel I showed you was so funny, because he's talking to somebody in the crowd and he's like, how many pieces of content you post a day? And he's like, in the past, he's like, I don't give a fuck about the past. How many posts a day? He's like, well, like one on TikTok every two days. He's like, I post 900 pieces of content every day across 10 platforms and 100 handles. But I love it because the number keeps going up. And then he's like, I'm trying to get to 100,000 pieces of content a day.
- 0:59No, we do not want that. We don't want that. I, again, like Gary Vee, I think he lost me like years prior when he was just like saying like, good morning with the sunshine. And I was just like, that is to me like a waste of content.
- 1:12I also think, look, I understand when he's doing those like live seminar type things and people are asking questions, he's not actually going to like listen to what the person's actually going through, because he needs to make it relevant for the entire audience. So like, he's not going to be like, oh, give me your entire business plan and I'm just going to sit down and help you. He needs to make things that are like snappy, but he's also trying to make viral moments for himself. And I think that's what annoys me, because that's why I feel he's saying the same thing, because someone will ask him a question and then he'll say something kind of like snappy back and then he'll just repeat what he's already done, which, do not get me wrong, it's impressive. And again, I'm like cool with Gary, but like he'll literally just go on and be like, oh, like I make 900 pieces of content today and I do this and you should have listened to me about TikTok, and no, no. And like, cool. Great.
- 1:57But he doesn't need a lot of context from the person asking the question, because it'll be like, somebody'll be like, hey, I'm like scared to post or put my face on the camera. He's like, he'll be like, don't be scared to post. Like, don't care what people think, which is actually the answer.
- 2:10Yeah. It's like that meme, like, uh, you know, how to make money, and you open it to the first page and it's like work, and then the person cries.
- 2:15Totally. Like, he does have the proper, the real advice. People are like, oh, what should I do? Post a ton of content. But that's the hard part. It's hard to do that.
- 2:24No, exactly. I just laugh that people are still going to his like conferences or whatever and saying the same thing. And they're being like, I don't know what to do. And I'm like, I know what Gary's going to tell you to do. So maybe like, don't ask that question.
- 2:35No, but his message is updated. Like, you know, this year he's talking about interest based media and how it's the first year really the followers don't matter. It's all about any single piece of content. Any new account could blow up on the first post. You could get more views on the first post on a new account that Gary gets on his existing content.
- 2:49True.
- 2:49I think he is always on the pulse and, I honestly, I keep following Gary Vee. Anytime a reel comes up, I'm watching it. Like, what else are you looking at, if not that?
