the take
first of all, it's a game. people get banished and act personally betrayed, and we'd like to gently remind everyone they signed up for a show literally called The Traitors. second, some of the traitors' decisions have us yelling at the tv. they keep picking obvious people to murder and obvious people to recruit. everyone says the faithfuls are the ones playing badly. our take: the faithfuls aren't exactly playing a great game, but the traitors are playing a worse one. please discuss.
this is the hosts' commentary and speculation for entertainment, not a statement of fact about anyone in it.
the backstory
Spoilers through episode 6 ahead. The clip is about The Traitors: New Blood, NBC's 2026 civilian version of the US show. Quick vocab note: nobody technically gets voted off. Players vote at the Round Table to banish someone, and the Traitors secretly murder someone else.
On recruiting, this season added a twist. In the premiere, Traitors Joe Vanella and Tomica Adams picked two Accomplices, Katie Fites and Xavier Scruggs, who had to complete secret missions. In episode 3 they chose Katie as the third Traitor, and Xavier was murdered.
In fairness to the hosts' other point, the Faithfuls haven't exactly crushed it either: through episode 6, which aired October 15, 2026, they had banished four Faithfuls and zero Traitors.
