there's something about the uk version that feels more casual. the outfits aren't as extreme, and don't get us wrong, we love when the housewives bring the glam (and Alan obviously does too). but in the uk they seem to know it's a game. they take it seriously, they have fun, and they're not nasty. one of us is surprised to be liking it this much, mostly because we really like Alan Cumming and miss him. why isn't he hosting the uk one? probably because there he'd just be a regular guy. a cast member. which, honestly, would he be a better traitor or faithful?

the backstory
Different hosts, different vibes. The UK's The Traitors and The Celebrity Traitors are hosted by Claudia Winkleman. Alan Cumming has hosted the US version on Peacock and NBC since it launched in 2023, famous for his capes, kilts and very dramatic outfits.
The US celebrity seasons have leaned on reality stars, including plenty of Real Housewives, who tend to bring the glam and the drama to the Round Table. The UK celebrity cast plays for charity instead, up to £100,000 split between the winners' chosen charities.
